Professor Brian Donnellan

Prof. Brian Donnellan holds the Chair of Information Systems Innovation at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth (www.nuim.ie) and is Academic Director of the Innovation Value Institute (www.ivi.ie). The Innovation Value Institute is an industry-led research initiative founded by Intel Corp and NUI Maynooth. IVI researches and develops unifying frameworks and road-maps to deliver IT enabled innovation whilst validating that these frameworks/tools have a broad applicability across differing industries and contexts. IVI, through its Open Innovation approach, facilitates a collaborative community of like-minded peers committed to investigating, advancing and disseminating the frameworks, tools and best practices associated with managing Innovation. Prof. Donnellan has published over 60 peer reviewed conference and journal papers. He currently teaches on the following courses postgraduate in IVI and NUIM: “Managing IT Innovation for Business Value”, “Technology and Finance” and “Operations and Information Technology”. From 2003-2009, Prof Donnellan was an IS Lecturer in the Business Information Systems Group in NUI Galway. From 1985-2003, he was a Section Manager in Analog Devices Inc. (Boston, USA), where he was responsible for Computer-Aided-Design and Knowledge Management Systems for New Product Development.
