Hardik Vachhrajani

Hardik Vachhrajani (PhD) is a Quality Council of India approved Quality and Lean consultant. He is Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, NASSCOM Certified BPO Quality Analyst and is examiner for Ram Krishna Bajaj National Quality Award applicants (Indian clone of Malcolm Baldrige Award). He holds more than nine years of consulting, training and research experience in the fields of quality and innovation management across South East Asia, Europe and East Africa. MBA by master’s qualification, Hardik has diversified interests in the field of entrepreneurship and strategic management ranging from leadership to challenges and opportunities faced by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in developing countries. His areas of research, consulting and collaboration interest include innovation, quality management, strategic management, entrepreneurship, small and medium enterprises and social/regional development through innovation. In the domain of innovation Hardik has worked extensively on aspects of open innovation, national innovation systems, grassroots level innovations and role of innovation in the growth of SMEs as well as evolving dynamics of clusters. After spending a brief time at ICICI Bank Ltd. (India’s largest private sector bank); Hardik decided to devote his career to consulting and research for the development of the SMEs of India. Till date he has served more than 100 SMEs spread across India and beyond as a consultant, and has personally trained more than 300 entrepreneurs. He has vast experience in identifying, designing and executing various programs revolving around the needs of the SMEs. Hardik has completed his PhD in innovation management (in SMEs) from India’s prestigious Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. He served as Post Doctoral Fellow at Department of Management, University of Bologna, Italy from August 10 to June 11. Various articles/research papers of Hardik have been published at national/international conferences/journals and magazines. Hardik also leads PhD level research for various universities. Hardik is Assistant Editor for IBSU Scientific Journal Published by International Black Sea University, Georgia for management contributions. He sits on the international advisory panel of ‘The Next Society: The International Journal’ published from Germany and on ‘Journal of Indian Higher Education’ published by Higher Education Forum, Mumbai. He is Associate Editor of International Journal of Business Derivatives. He has received research grants from various funding agencies including Swiss National Science Foundation (2008) and European Union (2010). Hardik is a winner of Best Paper Award by ISME, Bangalore and Quality Council of India for his research paper on crowdsoucing (January, 2010). Hardik has received certificate of appreciation from School of Business, Amrita University for his outstanding contribution in research. Hardik takes courses on Innovation Management, Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship at MBA and PhD level. He is involved in international cross-cultural research on innovation with scholars from more than 10 countries.
